The individual project has shown me that the simple ideas work the best. They are so simple because they have been refined to the only thing that really needs to be there. Using this knowledge we are trying to make our design with the smallest amount of intricate parts in order to minimize the risk of failure.
In our process we have come up with an idea and currently are working on creating parts so that we can 3D print them to create a more accurate launch. The only problem we are having is coming up with the dimensions for the parts and also designing them. Once we complete and finalize the ideas we will be well on our way to creating a functional prototype that we can be proud of.
Future problems we might have may include finding the correct distance and the correct angle to launch the ball in to the mason jar. These will be solvable problems that will require a series of trial and error.
Along with engineering, this Saturday I have my first fall season game against Pali High. I have not played in a official baseball game in a couple months due to my injury so I am excited to get back up on the horse.
